Pai

Pai is a personal film by Nelly dos Reis about her relationship with her Cape Verdean father, who migrated to Rotterdam more than forty years ago. This results in a confrontational exploration of what it means to love someone without being able to save them. Set against the backdrop of Cape Verdean migration history, Pai explores how migration, loss, and unspoken family histories can affect generations.
